The property itself was once upon a time a fishing camp with a number of small cabins. Now fa new family home sets prominant with many natural features addressed by our landscape team.

A lot going on here. Steps, Flagstone, Beach, Retaining Walls, Paver Patio, Access to the Lake, separation from lawn and woods, retooling the beach area with some additional retaining walls. Beautiful Lake Access.

TOEL juggled a few projects at this lake home, not the least of which was an irrigation system. Once the irrigation system establishes the lawn - the maintenance is more manageable. Lots of grading and reworking the Landscape on this Lake Property.

Crisis Averted: previous landscaping wall failed due to poor rain water mitigation. The erosion come off a 3 story build ~ without a gutter system, was a disaster waiting to happen. No worries our team worked with the Gutter Guys to build multiple terraces, and shore up the access water problems.

After a Variance was granted from the county, our team created a multi-tear retaining wall terrace to control the erosion. This Home has an checkered past, but our team was able to satisfy the county and the client with a major overhaul of heavy-duty retaining wall block.

Previously we built out a WOAS Patio on the Lakeside of this summer cabin. The clients are avid volleyball players and requested a Pro-SandVolley Ball Install. We captured a Timelapse of the Install so they could see the progress before returning for the summer.

TOEL out did theselves @ Birdie’s Mini Golf. Multiple phases of this install. To be fair we did not do the original design work for the course itself, but worked closely with the creators to bring it to life.

We completed the project and now we have a few final touches. Including a pesky PVC pipe (well head). Fortunately for these clients TOEL has another tactful cover for this visual eye sore ~ A hollowed out tree stump gives a great cover for the out of place white pipe.

The thaw of winter gives way to the spring opportunities. This Emerald Isle Gem was one of my favorites. Retaining Walls, Steps, Terrace, Boulder Gardens, Massive Drainage Systems, Flagstone Steppers, Grading and waiting for the grass to grow.

Winter Inspection ~ Burr Cold. Hard to imaging what this project will look like, however a bird’s eye view allows TOEL to begin drafting and designing ideas for clients. It’s in the winter that major concepts are processed and radified.

Steep Embankment calls for switchback trail for Lake Access. A series of steps with a gradual slope between, and a number of platforms along the way gives the best footing. An SRUA (shoreland recreational use area) is a permit needed to expand the lake access

An extra touch on perimeter landscaping to give our projects a added bonus is to create one-of-a-kind splash guards for the the downspouts. Hand Picked from flagstone scraps, we create a miniture terraced waterfall for the downspouts to spill over onto. Blending into the rest of the scheme, it becomes a client favorite.

A unique design, intended for a memorial garden. The fenceline has been cultivated by the clients as a two fold bufferzone, and firepit. Our team designed a paver walkway to pull all these elements together, with an added reflective memorial island in the middle, leaving a legacy garden for past loved ones.

TOEL FLYOVER Phase #1 was retaining walls by the New Garage. Phase #2 has a new beach, paver pathways, and a lot of patio space to build out. Phase #3 is anticipating foundational landscaping, and possibly some irrigation to follow.

A beautiful piece of virgin property along the shell river system, another contributer to the greater Crow Wing River System that likely flows into the Great Mississippi near by. It’s a privledge to assist with this remote hideaway.

What an absolute treat to create this Recreational Beach and Park. Many of the sorrounding counties restrict adding beaches to the waterfront, so it was a bonus to establish a New Beach for these clients.

Erosion Control measures are be optimized to keep the embankment from washing out. The switchbacks in the river often called oxbows are undercutting the steep embankment. Our clients are utilizing our drone & landscape experience to plead their case to the authorities for a permit.

After the county approved of our permit, and we locked in both the 20’ setback and the 100’ setback, we created a lakeside firepit patio, and extended the patio off the house, by adding an extended paver sidewalk around the side of the home. The final product is most inviting.

Tree & Stump Removal is part of the job. Though it is not our primary target of landscaping, we regularly commit to trees and stumps as part of the demo before starting with a fresh landscape canvas.

This property slides along the Straight River. A Great River for Canoeing and Wading. It’s a tributary to the Crow Wing system. A matriarch of the community and her family established a legacy farmstead here, and the next generation is making some landscape modifications.

Here is an example of a live edge. A freshly poured cement apron and sidwalk for wheelchair accessibility was a perfect fit for this property. Everything needs to be flush for the electric wheel chair to transition into the lawn. This property will be par-excellante once the grass starts coming in.

TOEL had previously place a couple rather large Boulders at the entrance previous to this delivery. However the client wanted to go even bigger. So we prepped for a behemoth to be delivered. A big undertaking with a literal TON of expectations.

After Dropping “The Rock”, our crews worked hard to tighten up the gap between the olther boulders. We attempted to twist and turn the behemoth until it was just right. After placing on point, we then were able to manipulate the other two large boulders up next to their final resting place.

Normally we get about 10 yards of Boulder, Dirt, or Sand from one of these Dump Trucks. However, this particular delivery only had “One Rock”! As the Truck approached we could sense that it was maxing out it’s load capacity. After removing the Giant talegate, we proceeded to deliver as planned.

As Noted: this Behemoth of a Boulder took a lot of preplanning. The strategy behind the delivery was to (1) Dig a significant holde, (2) fill the hole with some fine sand (3) Unload the Boulder with precision (4) Undermine the XL Boulder by digging out sand while spinning the boulder into place with two bobcats.

Here is the EXTENDED CUT of the Monolith Entry Boulder. It’s a most welcoming attraction to the driveway. Without a down neighbors and guests will know who’s who among driveway landscapes. These entry boulders are there to stay.

Monolith Entry Boulder is proped up at this Lakehome. TOEL has done extensive landscaping around the perimeter, underneath the pinehaven, hardscaping pathways & patios, all the way down to the lakeside access. Beautiful Property!

Cobblestone Edging & Steps are rustic, but they hold up way better than all those other plastics people like to use. This particular Edger deliniates between lawn and garden. A short little pathway to the deck is made possible by a few assorted flat boulders proppery placed.

Little did we know that our team put these catchments in place right before a 10” Deluge. We returned to see how the catchments favored, shored up the retaining knolls, and re-seeded all the areas that washed out.

Two properties diverging all water run off between themselves creates a deluge during a big rain fall. So with the county’s approval we dispatched our teams to devise a number of boulder catchments to control, disperse, and filter the heavy rain waters prior to reaching the lake.

One of our easiest installs in the classic bullet edge. It’s the most inexpensive edger on the market. It transitions nicely. We install these in both residencial and commercial properties. This particular property needed and edge for future snow removal to be aware of where the garden begins.

Not our first flag that we’ve installed raised. This Flag System came as a kit. We knocked off the old cement fitting and did a refit. leveling in every way imaginable. It adds nicely to the pond (water feature) that it flies over.

One of the perks with choosing Touch of Eden is that we frequently fly our properties, which allow us to layer in a map portion to the design that is incredibly accurate. Specifically it allows us to create Irrigation Maps for clients once we have finished the install - for future maintance purposes.

Precision Mapping is most helpful when troubleshooting lawn care. TOEL takes the extra step to use its Drone Tech to create a detailed Map for Clients after we install, grass grows, and all systems are operational. Irrigation Mapping is one of the perks to choosing TOEL.

After we Fly and sketch out each draft. This gives the clients time to make decisions. However, the metrics change when the build comes to completion. often there is an elevation change. More materials (retaining walls) or less perimeter depending on what is actually left behind - after construction. This particular build we convinced them to put in a circle drive!

It is essential to have a Drones Eye View on New Builds. There is no satellite footage, no GIS, no Google Earth to snag draft pics from. These early inspections allow TOEL to be creative in our assist to flesh-out what the landscaping could potentially look like.
